For this Special Issue, the papers are selected among those dealing with analog and mixed-mode circuits and systems. More than 25 papers were presented in this field, and from these, 8 papers have been selected for the Special Issue Editorial highlighting and highly cited papers. Editorial highlighting-the process whereby journal editors selectat the time of publication, a small subset of papers that are ostensibly of higher quality, importance or interest-is by now a widespread practice among major scientific journal publishers.
Here, we look at the relation between highlighted papers and highly influential paperswhich we define at two levels: Using multiple linear regression and multilevel regression modeling we examine the parameters associated with highly influential papers. We briefly comment on cause and effect relationships between citedness and highlighting of papers. The purpose of the Colloquium was to bring together scientists working on magnetic thin films and surfaces and to provide an opportunity for presentation and discussion of recent experimental and theoretical advances in the field.

There were 56 oral and poster presentations. The oral presentations consisted of 3 plenary talks, 23 invited talks and 30 contributed talks. The number of presentations by scientific category are as follows: Applied Physics includes several important papers in this rapidly developing field.
We believe that, in the future, the field of magnetic materials will maintain its popularity and, on top of that, other fields such as spintronics materials, materials related to life sciences and medicine and also materials related to the educion will be investigated further.
The Colloquium has been held in Japan four times now: Nanotechnological selection Nanotechnological selection. At edickon nanoscale measures can move from a mass-scale analogue calibration to counters of discrete units. The shift redefines the possible levels of control that can be achieved in a system if adequate selectivity can be bioquimicq. As an example as ionic substances pass through nanoscale pores, the quantity of ions is low enough that the pore can contain either negative or positive ions.
Yet precise control over this selectivity still raises difficulties. In this issue researchers address the challenge of bioqulmica to regulate the ionic selectivity of negative and positive charges with the use of an external charge. The approach may be useful for controlling the behaviour, properties and chemical composition of liquids and has possible technical applications for nanofluidic field effect transistors . Selectivity is a critical advantage in the administration of drugs.
Nanoparticles functionalized with targeting moieties can allow delivery of anti-cancer drugs to tumour cells, whilst avoiding healthy cells and hence reducing some of the debilitating side effects of cancer treatments . Researchers in Belarus and the US developed a new theranostic approach—combining therapy and diagnosis—to support the evident benefits of cellular selectivity that can be achieved when nanoparticles are applied in medicine .
Their process uses nanobubbles of photothermal vapour, referred to as plasmonic nanobubbles, generated by plasmonic excitations in gold nanoparticles conjugated to diagnosis-specific antibodies. The intracellular plasmonic nanobubbles are controlled by laser fluence so that the response can be tuned in individual living cells. Lower fluence allows non-invasive high-sensitive imaging for diagnosis and higher fluence can disrupt the cellular membrane for treatments.
The selective response of carbon nanotubes to different gases has leant them to be used within various different types of sensors, as summarized in a review by researchers at the University of.

The most active countries in the regions such as Argentina, Brazil, Mexico, Spain, Colombia and Venezuela have registered a large number of participants but other countries in the regions such as Chile, Cuba, Ecuador, Peru, Portugal and Uruguay have also sent a representative number of participants. The Book of Abstracts recorded communications divided into 15 different topics with oral communications in three bbioquimica sessions and posters in two special sessions. We also acknowledge financial and organizational support from Brazilian federal.
His approach was, for the most part, rather finitist and constructivist, and he was inevitably drawn to studies of the process of computation. It seems to me that ilystrada early work on decision problems relating automata and logic, starting with his thesis under Roger Lyndon and continuing with joint work with Biichi, Wright, Copi, Rutledge, Mezei, and then later with Rabin, set the stage for his attack on the theory of computation through the abstract treatment of the notion of a machine.
This is also apparent in his joint work with A. Robinson reproduced here and in his joint papers with John Shepherdson. Of course in the light harpre subsequent 229 on decision hrper by Biichi, Rabin, Shelah, and many, many others, the subject has been placed on a completely different plane from what it was whe Regardless of application, low cost, high performance and high reliability seem bkoquimica give us the winning hand leaving competing technology platforms in the dust, for instance in automotive applications.
First, I would like to thank the authors of the selected papers for each of their individual excellent contributions. My gratitude also goes to my fellow members in the programme committee Leon Abelmann, Marin Hill and Martin Hoffmann for their devotion in the selection of invited speakers and submitted papersas well as the anonymous JMM reviewers for their careful selection of the final 13 papers included here.
Last, but not least, it has been an honour and pleasure for me to collaborate with the editorial staff of Journal of Micromechanics and Microengineering, haprer the selected best papers presented at MME included in this special section. In the previous editorialwe presented.
We hope that this offer will focus more attention on these papersselected by the editorial board for their wide interest and quality. You will also find on this portal useful information for authors and a direct access to the electronic submission procedures.
We look forward to receiving your suggestions for the continued improvement of this important part of the journal. We also think it is necessary to clearly describe, below, our editorial procedures refereeing, appeals, ethical problems The fairness and celerity of the paper handling process are essential components in a journal’s image. We hope that our readers and authors will be convinced by the arguments and statistics presented below that EPJ D is worthy of their trust.
We are of course also open to suggestions to improve these procedures. As a final word, we would like to thank warmly those members of the editorial board whose term came to its end in They devoted considerable efforts for the continued improvement of the journal.
We hope they will continue to help us with their advice and support the journal by their scientific production. May we conclude by offering you our best wishes for a happy and productive New World Year of Physics?
Editorial by Christopher R. This paper confirms previous accounts of new fathers’ experiences but, additionally, reveals a patterned ebbing and Directory of Open Access Journals Sweden. The difficulties found in the early number were slowly overcome, with the effective participation of all segments, always looking of the improvement of the scientific and editorial quality, compartible with the qualitative growth goals of the journal.

Edixion this context, the incorporation of nationally renown researchers to the editorial board turned the scientific consulting more selective.
The first important recognition of this journal happened with its indexing by the CAB International System, from England, in The repercussion of the inclusion on the indexing system was felt by the significant increase in the number of manuscripts received.
To meet this new challenge, and the demand by the Braxilian scientific community, the Editorial Board decided to implement a second number of the journal, making it biannual this year. Thus, the edition of the ninth volume will comprise this first number, in the month of June, and a second one, planned forDecember Another change, to catch your eyes, is the cover of the Journal, bringing a new style.

The design was developed by the Visual Programming Laboratory, of the Center for the Arts and Literature od the UFSM, substantially changing its layout, and giving it a hrper modern and actual appeal.
The innovation will be complemented haarper a different picture in each volume. Approximately participants from 16 countries were registered, contributing 52 oral or poster presentations. A first session was dedicated to the tools available for identifying and localising major genes or QTL in these two species.
Molecular techniques, marker panels, radiation hybrids, genome physical maps, and BAC libraries were presented along with genetic, comparative and cytogenetic maps. A second and largest session concerned different traits for which major genes or QTL have been found, i.
For each group, a guest’s paper focused on one sub-trait gave the state of the art: The third session was devoted to the strategies for the use of major genes and QTL in populations, while the last session covered future prospects.

Nine articles were jointly selected by the Editorial Board of the journal and by the Guest Editor. The recurrence of these workshops together with successful events held in parallel by McGill University in Montreal Seuntjens et alshow consolidated interest from the scientific community in Monte Carlo MC treatment planning.
The workshop was attended by a total of 90 participants, mainly coming from a medical physics background. A total of 48 oral presentations and 15 posters were delivered in specific scientific sessions including dosimetry, code development, imaging, modelling of photon and electron radiation transport, external beam radiation therapy, nuclear medicine, brachitherapy and hadrontherapy.
A copy of the programme is available on the workshop’s website www. In this special section of Physics in Medicine and Biology we report six papers that were selected following the journal’s rigorous peer review procedure.
These papers actually provide a good cross section of the areas of application of MC in treatment planning that were discussed at MCTP Czarnecki and Zink and Wagner et al present the results of their work in small field dosimetry.
Czarnecki and Zink studied field size and detector dependent correction factors for diodes and ion chambers within a clinical 6MV photon beam generated by a Siemens linear accelerator. Wagner et al This editorial describes the purpose of the journal and the reasons for its editorial policy, and introduces the articles in this inaugural issue These four institutions started this journal to provide scholarly focus on international research in higher education, teaching and learning, education policy and practice, and internationalization.
It was important that the journal be open access, so that everyone could have immediate and unrestricted access to the latest research. It was also important that the journal be multilingual; we have accepted manuscripts for review in Brazilian Portuguese, European Portuguese, Latin American Spanish, European Spanish, and English.
The language capacity of the staff is truly amazing. HLRC has published 88 essays, articles, lections, book reviews, and editorials. State-of-the-art, Barriers, and Challenges I greatly appreciate the breadth of scholarship on the latest higher education practices and. The volume addresses smart energy systems and the optimal ways of integrating renewable energy into these. Two of the contributions are from ilusyrada perspective of energy storage This includes thermal storages for house heating and gas and liquid fuel storage for harpre.
